Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York. His mother, Patricia, was an elementary school teacher and his father, David, worked at an insurance company.
Zuckerberg’s parents divorced when he was 10 years old. After his parents divorced, Mark lived with his father, a psychologist, until he was five years old. Then he moved with his mother, a psychiatrist, to Palo Alto, California.
Mark started school at age six, and at age seven, he attended a public elementary school where he learned basic skills, such as reading and writing. In his childhood, he had trouble learning how to read and write. While attending high school, he played basketball, soccer, and lacrosse.
